How are window films installed?

LLumar window films are installed by our professional dealer network. Installation is quick and hassle-free and our dealers will take you through the process step-by-step. The film may be computer cut to precisely fit your windows and is usually installed on the interior side of the glass using adhesives that are water activated. Window films usually need time to cure or dry out – usually for a number of days, but it can often be longer.

Do clear window films provide the same benefits as darker films?

Window film doesn't have to be dark to provide benefits like heat reduction, energy savings and ultraviolet (UV) protection. In fact, some darker films are dyed polyester that simply provide greater privacy. LLumar offers a wide range of window film shades for architectural and automotive applications, giving you options that best suit your needs.

Will my window film bubble or turn purple?

Purple, bubbling film is a sign of a very low-grade window film whose mounting adhesive and dye components have broken down. LLumar films are warranted against this, using more stable and advanced dye chemistries and/or permanent metal layers that do not discolor over time.

Do LLumar window films require special care or cleaning?

Not really
While not quite as hard as glass, LLumar window films are extremely scratch-resistant and may be cleaned with common household cleaners, non-abrasive paper towels, or cotton cleaning cloths. Caution should be exercised to prevent extreme gouging by hard, sharp, metallic objects.
